Decentraland is a magical, mystical place with surprises lurking around every virtual corner. big names like SAMSUNG and Miller Light They are already using Decentraland to host virtual activations that create and strengthen consumer-brand relationships. Decentraland offers an immersive space that can be used to curate compelling virtual experiences for consumers. The metaverse marketing tactics used here are on the bleeding end of digital marketing.

As I continue to explore new virtual developments and look for innovative marketing ideas, I will be sharing some of my most promising discoveries through a series of posts titled “Metaverse Marketing.” Whether you’re an avid young marketer or a curious boomer, feel free to follow and join me on my metaverse marketing journey.

Beam Me

At the beginning of the month, I officially entered the metaverse. I’ve been to metaverses before but only as a tourist. This time I was in Decentraland for hard work. I was looking for new ideas to apply to my company’s newest metaverse project. petaverseThe first official metaverse pet company.

I started by consulting my good friend Jake, who wrote it. research reports The metaverse covers exciting Decentraland developments on real estate and in its own world. Metaverse Explorer sherry. Jake was kind enough to recommend some must-see places for a metaverse noob like me. the day was April 20pearlIt’s 2022 and first on the list was a 420 themed party. xetaplexa popular Decentraland event venue.

My first impression of the event can be described in one word: weed. From weed skins to fluorescent weed disco balls, there was no shortage of weed-themed decor. Only once I took a step back to reduce graphics lag did I begin to see the bigger picture.

This wasn’t just a 420 themed party, it was a highly coordinated event promoting the metaverse DJ. of Jack Frost The latest hit single “Beam Me Up” is a first-person comedy retelling of Jack’s experience of going through airport security with marijuana.

Xetaplex Venue During Beam Me Up 420 Party

The first thing that caught my attention was the posters at the entrance of Xetaplex. 2D Posters showing the cover art of Beam Me Up colored the venue’s dance floor and surroundings. When clicked, the banners were hyperlinked to Jack’s NFT collection for the event.

NFTs featured the cover art and sound of Beam Me Up, but also doubled as tickets that allowed visitors to be admitted to the event. You can still visit the place. Beam Me in your NFT crypto wallet, but the audio-visual components of the concert would be hidden from you.

rounding up

When I first came to the concert, I had not bought tickets yet. I found myself standing among hundreds of dancing avatars, but I felt alienated. I likened it to taking off your headphones at a quiet disco. Everyone around you trembles at the sound of the music and you get lost in the silent ocean of swaying bodies.

Even in the silence, I could feel the energy of the crowd. FOMO is starting to kick in, but at the 0.05 ETH ($120) price point, I’m not quite sold on. I needed something more compelling to paint a picture of the experience and show me what it felt like to be in a crowd. I started scanning Twitter hashtags We are looking for video tips from ticket holders for the event.

I searched and searched in vain. I finally plugged it back into the metaverse and started wandering the space looking for clues. I clicked on one of the Beam Me Up posters and it directed me to OpenSea. NFT market for the event.

An NFT of the Beam Me Up music video was front and center on the marketplace’s landing page. I clicked play and the video started. It was a silly yet surprisingly catchy production of Jack Frost wearing a head-to-toe “astronaut suit” selling copious amounts of bagged weed as he passed through airport security and boarded the private jet.

After Jack were the pilots, the TSA agents, and the attractive stewardesses, all hoping to join the fun. Once the jet took off, the party started. The lights flashed as Jack and his crew danced around the cabin of the plane, which lit up and blasted the tapes.

At this point, my FOMO indicator was on the red line. I had to buy a ticket and experience it myself. Fortunately I was already at the market and my ticket was just two clicks away.

Concert Participant Posts from the Beam Me Up Event

Fixing the Bag

It was relatively unusual for me to be introduced to the Beam Me Up event. Most attendees are likely to discover the concert via the official Decentraland event page (15,000 daily visitors) or come across one of the following. lots of social media promotions for the event. In addition to the occasional organic promotions, tons of people were Tweeting about the event during the show for a chance to win Decentraland wearables.

To enter the sweepstakes, visitors had to pose near one of several Beam Me Up posters, take a screenshot, Tweet the screenshot with the hashtag #BeamMeUp and the hashtag @NftFrost. Users also had to add their ETH wallet addresses. In case they win; A limited edition wearable is shipped by plane to the address provided. I counted at least 95 posts originating from this promotion alone.

Since the incident on 20 Aprilpearl2022 DJ Jack Frost sells 28 Beam Me Up NFT for an average price of $224.14 accumulates roughly $6,275.92 worth of income, the official Beam Me Up music video does not include NFT’s additional $2,789.33 sale. That’s an impressive comeback for an artist who at the time of writing has only 73 monthly listeners on Spotify.

I can also conclude with reasonable confidence that there were at least 100 attendees to Xetaplex during the event, and I know that promotions for the event received over 200 joins on Twitter alone. Jack Frost’s Beam Me Up concert was a clear testament to the power of metaverse marketing.
