CryptoArt Sundays: Interview with Hypnagogist

It’s time for a new round for CryptoArt Sundays! Say hello to the epic visionary artist hypnagogistmaster of mixed media and psychedelic art.

Come and find out more about his incredible journey in NFT art!

How did you learn about the NFT field and what drew you to create your own NFTs?

I first found the NFT space included on the 3DINTERNET Discord server started by Nicole Ruggiero, which has tons of great artists and great people in general! Essentially, most of my digital and 3D work up to that point was purely for personal projects and was not something I considered pursuing myself, but after many mixed successes in the beginning, the NFT field has allowed me to do just that! Over the past year, I’ve been able to make connections in some really cool communities.

How often do you create?

Honestly, almost nonstop! Honestly, that’s my purpose in life and I’m always exploring environments, techniques and processes and integrating them into my own process. I’m an experimenter at heart and I’m constantly trying new ways to change things up and really improve my work.

What is your creative process?

I don’t really claim to be a specific creative process. As I mentioned earlier, what I will say largely is that the core component of my process is experimentation. I work on traditional and digital works, from acrylic painting to 3D modeling, and I feel that each medium informs my work in a different way and allows me to carry what I’ve learned between them.

Probably the best example of this is the series of projection mapped images I’ve created that combines traditional painting, 3D modeling in Blender, projection mapping in Touchdesigner, and truly represents the fusion of all my different working methods!

Are there any CryptoArtists you would like to work with?

There are more people than I can count, the visionary art scene is full of amazing artists I would love to work with one day, Glass Crane, Ben Ridgeway, Burt Veracruz, Eloh, Kyle Dineen and just a few of my favourites. I really could go on! I have a few collaborations planned for the near future, but I have to finish a lot of work before I can finally get them started!

What do you think will be the future of CryptoArt?

Ideally, the emphasis on sustainable networks like Algorand would be a big push in CryptoArt. I also personally would like to see a more focus on 1/1 fine art type projects rather than collections, which may be a bit of a biased opinion, but there are so many artists on stage doing incredibly cool stuff and I want to see more of them get recognized!

I maintain a lot of healthy skepticism in many web3.0 projects, but there are some things with tons of potential so I just pay attention to a myriad of different things and see what works. end.

What are you currently working on?

Currently my primary projects are not actually NFT related, my main project is actually a large art installation. It’s a ridiculous job, but the payoff will be incredible. I’ll be back to work on NFT projects soon, I have some big personal stuff planned, a lot of time in the day and I’m being pushed to my current limit, but these are a big level up from my previous 3D work.

I also plan to work on more hybrid traditional-digital projection mapped parts throughout the year, so this is something to look forward to!

Where can collectors find your work?

You can find me almost anywhere on Hypnagogist! Currently, I’m primarily in the Ethereum and Algorand based markets, but I’m starting to try out a market in Kusama called Singular that I’m excited to be a part of!

PsyNFT (by NFTrippy) is a great showcase of visionary artists and colleagues where you can find my work and some of the best artists working on stage! If there was a hub for checking out my work and all related art related links, it would be the place.
