Affiliate assets guide

Affiliate Marketing Assets Guide

When you start your affiliate program with Tapfiliate, you will want to upload marketing assets for your affiliates to use as part of their promotions.

Having marketing assets ready for affiliates makes it much easier for them to start promoting your brand – all they have to do is share! Plus, this gives you more control over your brand and what’s shared.

Marketing assets for your affiliate program

When you upload assets to your program, your affiliates will be able to access them through the “Asset Wall” and share them directly on their social channels or embed them on their websites.

An overview of supported marketing assets:

1. Picture Posters

This is a plain, static image file designed to showcase your brand.

Image banners have three basic elements: image, text and logo.

Images should be of high quality and text should be easy to read. If the image is busy and the text is disappearing, consider adding a background behind the text or adding a dark overlay to images with white text on top.

Add a strong call-to-action (CTA) to your image banners, such as the text “Get Started” or “Shop Now”.

2. HTML5 Header

HTML5 Banners are interactive images that use animation as part of the display.

By using animation, your ads come to life and are more likely to grab viewers’ attention. This also gives you more room to be creative and contains information that you cannot compress into a static image.

These banners need to be created by a developer as it is more advanced.

This is content that includes a promotional message and the URL of the page it is linking to.

While simple and easy to create, text links can be quite powerful because they can be used almost anywhere – on websites, blogs, social media, review sites, forums, email, messaging.

With this range of uses, text links are an essential part of most affiliate programs.

In addition to general promotions, text links can be used to promote specific events, sales, categories or products. For example, a retailer marketing the launch of their new Autumn collection and wants to promote limited-time offers or drive traffic to certain product pages.

A tip for creating text links — aim to use a consistent voice and tone that matches your overall brand message. This will increase your brand awareness as well as help you avoid any miscommunication from affiliates about your products or services.

4. YouTube and Vimeo Video

Use YouTube and Vimeo videos to promote your brand.

Video is such a compelling way to reach audiences that 90% of people say product videos help with the buying process.

YouTube videos can include:

  • promotional videos
  • tutorials
  • FAQ videos
  • Product introductions
  • explainer videos
  • Customer success stories
  • Company events and interviews
  • User-generated content such as reviews and “unboxing” videos
These videos can be shared directly on Facebook or embedded in an affiliate’s website or blog.

5. Facebook Post

Create shareable Facebook posts. This will include a promotional message and URL of the page it is linking to.

Facebook posts can be shared directly to the affiliate’s feed with one click. Again, you want to make promoting affiliates as easy as possible so this can be a very effective marketing asset for your program.

6. Tweet

Create Tweets that can be shared directly with your affiliate’s stream, like Facebook.

Having tweets ready to be shared not only makes it easier for affiliates to promote, but also allows ads to fit within Twitter’s 280 character limit. Take the time to prepare tweets that adequately promote your brand within the given parameters and make sure to add relevant hashtags to reach more audiences.

7. XML Product Feed

A product feed is a file that lists all your products and product information. Product information includes product name, product ID, descriptions, pricing, etc. may contain.

This allows tech-savvy partners to embed your products on their websites. For example, an affiliate creating a Christmas Gift Guide using a product feed to highlight related products in your store.
